You can have the right process, but the wrong people. You can have the right people, but the wrong process.
Process and people management are not the same thing, yet they intertwine at times and run parallel to each other the majority of the time.
A manager has to be able to manage the process and manage people together and separately. The managers that I have seen able to do so, have higher morale and more productive employees. It’s a synergy that is badly needed, but not always recognized.
I have thrived under managers that understand the synergy between managing the process and people. I have whitered under managers that do not understand the synergy of the two.
