Guard Your Heart

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:23 NLT

It took a long time for me to learn this Proverb. It can be applied in many ways. Think about the times you think you met that one special person that you opened up to, but they dropped your heart, shattering it into a thousand pieces against a concrete floor. I’ve been on both sides of that. It’s no picnic, and the damage can take a long time to repair. Some people never recover.

Another way this verse can be applied is when you allow bad influences to rule you. When you allow them to take root in your heart, then you pour out hate, malice, and evil. You may even become a propaganda machine trying to drag others down the same road with you.

If you want a good life, keep a good heart.
